Deanne has been interested in music all her life. From the age of six she studied ballet and piano.  Later she was involved in acting in musical comedy and drama.  From 1990 to present day she has had a rewarding career as a teacher.  Her busy studio has students from the age of 4 to adult, beginners to Diploma.

Her philosophy has been strongly influenced by the Hungarian composer and educator Zoltan Kodály.  She believes that all children should experience music from an early age and that learning an instrument is highly beneficial to cognitive, physical and emotional development. Her experience in teaching and performing on the piano includes working in Early Childhood Centers, accompanying instruments for eisteddfods, performances and exams, working with junior choirs and private and group teaching for the piano.

Her aim is to bring out the personal best in each student and guide them to reach their goals through individual and group lessons.  She prides herself on devising lesson plans tailored for each student's personal needs and goals.  For teachers, she enjoys passing on her knowledge in pedagogy and mentoring.

For the last fifteen years, Deanne has been studying the Taubman Approach, an approach to playing the piano that facilitates freedom and technical ease at the instrument. She is committed to lifelong professional development, regularly attending Symposiums, and Masterclasses and continues to study the Taubman Approach with mentors, Therese Milanovic in Australia and John Bloomfield and Mary Moran in New York City, USA. 

Her studio offers tuition for Piano, Classical, Contemporary and Jazz, (using the ANZCA Syllabus), training in Collaborative Performance, Theory and Musicianship from beginners to advanced using both AMEB and ANZCA Syllabi. 
ANZCA piano and theory exams are held at the home studio. AMEB Exams are held all year round at their Ashgrove building. Students can be prepared for School Scholarships, Eisteddfods and Performances. 
The Music School's Grand Concert enables all of Deanne's students to perform for family and friends.  The Concert  is held once a year at Stretton Performers Arts Centre in September on a beautiful Grand Piano supplied from Boyd's the Piano Shop. 
Workshops for Theory and Performance held every school holidays.  Performance opportunities for advanced students are available once a month at no charge.
Lesson times are 30 - 60 minutes depending on the level and the terms are usually 10 weeks, please refer to the studio policy for more details.  Remote lessons are available especially for theory, interstate and overseas students/teachers.
